Bottom line is that we cannot let these limiting beliefs shorten our abilities and reach. I can recall talking about a similar quote – we are all in the gutter but some of us are aiming at the stars. The context might have been slightly different, but the essence is about looking ahead. We can either be driven by where we are or our vision. Neither of these can be limiting beliefs if we really want to be fair to ourselves.

Despite assumptions, the dress wasn't designed for a specific bride, Olubukola says, but the team did not go out of their way to burst the online buzz. The dress was part of a collection in our 2021 bridal series. I collaborated with a lot of other wedding vendors for the photoshoot. The result generated so much online attention that everyone thought it was an actual wedding, so we just stuck with that narrative.
According to Olubukola, making the design was time-consuming and took four months and four people to complete because of the pearl details. The material used to make the dress includes pearls, satin, lace and bridal nets.
